Warner Brothers to refuse licenses to free music services
Posted: February 12th, 2010 | Author: Billy Barnes | Filed under: Digital Content | No Comments »Warner Brothers has decided that there is no money to be made through ad supported or ‘freemium’ (free with a paid upgrade option) services: “Free streaming services are clearly not net positive for the industry and as far as Warner Music is concerned will not be licensed. The decision will not affect currently available services but may prevent newcomers like the UK’s Spotify from entering the US market.”
